ABOUT
I grew up in Newport Beach, California, and have wanted to be an interior designer for as long as I can remember. My career began here in my hometown, then took me to Los Angeles and New York City. After more than a decade of experience, I came home to create Elise Marie Design.
Working in Los Angeles expanded my horizons. It raised my standards for taste and quality and showed me design at every scale and in every style. Working in New York taught me to make the most of every square foot, and that good design always brings function and beauty together. I'm deeply grateful to the designers I trained under, who sharpened my eye and helped me become the designer I am today. Southern California is a wonderful place to live and to work, but a part of my heart will always belong to the cities.
People often ask me, "What is your style?" Personally, I'm drawn to the juxtaposition of vintage and contemporary pieces within the same space and gravitate towards traditional architecture with refined and unexpected elements. For my clients, each project's style stems from the setting and architecture of the home as well as their vision. My role is to bring those elements together and to communicate a clear, elevated direction through thoughtfully curated imagery.
I love the collaboration it takes to bring a project to life, with every member of the team playing a critical part. I love challenging myself creatively and making the experience of designing a home enjoyable for my clients. I hope to work on a wide variety of projects across the country and, someday, around the world. It's a privilege and a joy to create spaces that make people's lives more beautiful.
